Written in 1990, when i returned to East Berlin shortly after the fall of the Wall and saw not 'reunification' but the annexation of the GDR and countless lives devastated by the triumphalist power of unchecked capitalism.

The cabbage* is a king now, it's Helmut's finest hour
And on the streets the people want it 'as seen on TV'

A thousand Western businessmen are celebrating too

A multinational carve up, a bank to be obeyed
